Position
Travel Oncology RN — 13-week travel assignment
Location: Facility in Richmond, Virginia
Job Details
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Oncology RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Richmond, Virginia. The RN will administer cancer treatments, manage side effects, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
Required
- One year of recent experience as an Oncology RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

- English language proficiency (read, write, communicate)
- PC skills; ability to understand instructions and follow procedures
- Physical abilities to move and assist with equipment
- Ability to work with a diverse team and maintain professionalism
- Ability to cope with deadlines, irregular schedules, and detail-oriented work
- Visual acuity and effective communication
Responsibilities
- Educate patients and families about oncology procedures and treatments
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per oncology nursing techniques
- Prepare and maintain oncology-specific equipment and assist oncologists
- Monitor patient comfort, safety, and side effects; implement interventions to improve quality of life
- Assess, document, and respond to changes in patient conditions
- Maintain detailed documentation in medical records
- Respond to life-threatening situations per standards and protocols
- Develop individualized education plans for patients and families
- Participate in oncology quality improvement initiatives
- Advocate for patients navigating treatment plans
- Perform other duties within the scope of practice
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
