Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Oncology RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin. The RN will provide specialized nursing care to cancer patients in hospital and clinical settings, administer cancer treatments, manage side effects, and offer education and emotional support to patients and families.

Responsibilities
- Educate patients and families about oncology procedures and treatments, addressing concerns and fostering understanding
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved oncology nursing techniques
- Prepare and maintain oncology-specific equipment and assist oncologists during treatment and examinations
- Monitor and address patients' comfort, safety, and side effects; implement quality-of-life interventions
- Assess and document patient conditions and responses; communicate changes to the care team
- Maintain detailed, accurate nursing documentation in the medical records
- Respond to life-saving situations based on oncology nursing standards and procedures
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for cancer patients and families
- Participate in oncology quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Advocate for patients and help them navigate complex treatment plans
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Required
- One year of recent experience as an Oncology RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

- English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills
- Physical ability to remain in a stationary position, move equipment, push/pull, and bend

- Ability to cope with varying schedules and maintain attention to detail
- Visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively
