MICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma 74104 (Oklahoma healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens, Travel Nursing Contract
• Unit: MICU – Medical Intensive Care Unit
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), 3 shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (8/27/2025 – 11/26/2025)
• Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience preferred)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1670 - $1720
  
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Oklahoma or Compact State (required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent MICU/ICU nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (all required for MICU nurse jobs)
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Ability to float to similar critical care units as needed
  
  

MICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with clinical nursing standards
• Coordinate nursing care and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Utilize advanced clinical skills: arterial line management, ventilator management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and care for patients with multi-system organ failure
• Administer blood products, manage central lines and PICC lines, and perform phlebotomy as needed
• Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias; manage patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
• Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel in compliance with Board of Nursing regulations
• Assist with discharge planning and provide patient and family education
• Float to similar critical care units within scope as required by the facility
