MICU RN Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570 - $1680
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
• Location: Florence, South Carolina 29505
• Facility: Acute Care Hospital
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), including holiday rotation
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: May float to similar units within the facility
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Charting System: Epic
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue
• Parking: Free on-site parking

Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (required prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent MICU RN experience in an acute care setting
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (all required for critical care nursing jobs)
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Proficient in critical care procedures and equipment
• Ability to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius (locals not accepted)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit
• Monitor and manage patients with complex conditions, including multisystem organ dysfunction and failure
• Perform and assist with advanced critical care procedures: arterial line management, central line care, chest tube insertion/removal, ventilator management, ECMO, CVVHD/CRRT
• Administer emergency medications and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and cardiac dysrhythmias
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic
• Follow infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Float to similar critical care units as needed to support hospital staffing
