Overview
Operating Room RN position details:
- Position Title: Locum Tenens Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Rockport, Maine (04856) – Maine healthcare jobs
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
- Facility: 100-bed community hospital
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (September 29, 2025 – December 19, 2025)
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 4 days/week (rotating day off)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2330–$2500
- Call: 1 weeknight call per week (4:30 PM – 7:00 AM) and 1 weekend (48 hours) of call every 6 weeks
- Scrubs: Provided by Operating Room
- EMR: EPIC
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse – Maine or compact state)
- Minimum 5 years of Operating Room circulating experience, preferably in a community or smaller hospital setting
- Experience in multiple surgical service lines: Orthopedics, Urology, OB/GYN, General Surgery, ENT preferred
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required for on-call shifts
- Strong teamwork skills; willingness to assist with room turnovers and float to other units as needed
Key Responsibilities for Operating Room RN
- Provide circulating nurse duties in the operating room, delivering 1:1 patient care during surgical procedures
- Assist with room turnovers and support the surgical team across various specialties
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotation
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC electronic medical record system
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other hospital units during low census periods as needed
