- Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Locum Tenens
- Location: Wausau, WI 54401
- Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel nursing contract)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shift: 8-hour variable shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- On Call: 6-8 weeknight calls and 1-2 weekend calls per contract; 30-minute response time required
- Float: May float to nearby healthcare facilities as needed
- Start Date: October 6, 2025
- End Date: January 3, 2026
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2330-$2500
Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin RN license (required for Wisconsin nursing jobs)
- Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 5 years of Operating Room RN experience, including at least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
- Experience in large healthcare facilities with 20+ ORs
- DaVinci Robotic and Trauma Level II experience required
- Ability to circulate in the OR required; scrub experience preferred
- Must have own vehicle (Uber/Lyft not permitted due to on-call requirements)
- Epic charting experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver perioperative nursing care for surgical specialties: General Surgery, GYN, Urology, Plastics, ENT, and GI
- Circulate in the operating room and scrub as needed
- Meet on-call requirements with a 30-minute response time
- Float to nearby healthcare facilities if required
- Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Participate in downtime tasks and provide clinical support to the surgical team
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic (preferred)
