• Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Locum Tenens
• Location: Wausau, WI 54401
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel nursing contract)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: 8-hour variable shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• On Call: 6-8 weeknight calls and 1-2 weekend calls per contract; 30-minute response time required
• Float: May float to nearby healthcare facilities as needed
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: January 3, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2330-$2500

Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license (required for Wisconsin nursing jobs)
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 5 years of Operating Room RN experience, including at least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
• Experience in large healthcare facilities with 20+ ORs
• DaVinci Robotic and Trauma Level II experience required
• Ability to circulate in the OR required; scrub experience preferred
• Must have own vehicle (Uber/Lyft not permitted due to on-call requirements)
• Epic charting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver perioperative nursing care for surgical specialties: General Surgery, GYN, Urology, Plastics, ENT, and GI
• Circulate in the operating room and scrub as needed
• Meet on-call requirements with a 30-minute response time
• Float to nearby healthcare facilities if required
• Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Participate in downtime tasks and provide clinical support to the surgical team
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic (preferred)
