Overview

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a NICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Aurora, Colorado. The RN provides specialized care to critically ill and premature newborns in a NICU, including advanced assessments, life-support equipment management, and family-centered education and support. The role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure adherence to hospital and regulatory standards while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill and premature newborns; identify changes and document conditions and responses.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following neonatal nursing techniques.
• Perform neonatal assessments, including vital signs, weight checks, and specialized screenings.
• Operate and manage advanced NICU equipment (e.g., ventilators, CPAP, infusion pumps) and ensure proper functionality.
• Assist with life-saving and diagnostic procedures (e.g., umbilical line placement, intubation).
• Educate and support parents on neonatal care, including feeding techniques and developmental care.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Adhere to infection control measures, PPE use, hand hygiene, and sterilization protocols.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, therapists, and other professionals to optimize outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice; follow hospital safety and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a neonatal intensive care RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing Certification (RNC-NIC).
• PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC.
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.
