ER RN Job Details – Columbus, OH

- Unit: Emergency Department Observation Unit (CC99437)
- Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse Assignment
- Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
- Patient Age Groups: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,680 - $1,720
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Ohio state or compact nursing license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system preferred
- Trauma Level I or II hospital experience preferred
- Community hospital and LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) experience preferred
- Two professional references required (at least one from a nurse manager, director, or formal leadership role)
ER Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department Observation Unit
- Monitor telemetry and manage dysrhythmias
- Provide PCU/Stepdown level care, including IV insulin and heparin protocols
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Perform blood product administration and tracheostomy management
- Participate in rapid response teams and wound care/wound vac procedures
- Manage non-invasive airway support (CPAP/BIPAP, oxygen therapy)
- Document all patient care using Epic EHR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
