  • Location: Appleton, WI 54911
  • Facility Setting: Medical/Surgical & Oncology Units (6th/7th Floor)
  • Assignment Length: 13-week contract
  • Start Date: September 29, 2025
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (5:30 PM – 6:00 AM)
  • Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed (except during orientation/holidays)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirement: Holiday rotation
  • Floating: Required between 6th/7th floor and to other ThedaCare facilities within a 60-mile radius
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880 - $2020

Qualifications

  • Active Wisconsin RN License (Registered Nurse license required)
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification (required)
  • Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC) (required for oncology nurse jobs)
  • ACLS Certification (preferred)
  • Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing (required)
  • Minimum 3+ years RN experience (required)
  • Minimum 2+ years Med/Surg experience with cardiac telemetry interpretation (required)
  • Experience with medical/surgical and oncology/neutropenic patient populations
  • Recent EPIC charting experience (within last 2 years, required)
  • Previous travel nursing assignment completed (required; no new travelers)
  • Must not reside within 50 miles of ThedaCare Corporate Center, Neenah, WI

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical/surgical and oncology patients, including neutropenic individuals
  • Safely utilize ports and administer chemotherapy treatments
  • Initiate and titrate heparin and insulin drips as needed
  • Manage BiPAP/CPAP therapy for appropriate patients
  • Interpret cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to patient condition changes
  • Float between assigned units and ThedaCare facilities as required
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend rotations
  • Comply with all facility policies, procedures, and safety standards
