- Healthcare Setting: Surgical Oncology Unit (Medical Surgical Oncology)
- Employment Type: Locum tenens, travel nurse contract
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/13/2025 – End: 1/12/2026)
- Nursing Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Required per unit needs
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Unit Size: 36 beds, adult oncology patient population
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2020-$2070

Responsibilities
- Deliver post-operative care for patients with abdominal and pelvic cancer diagnoses (Gynecologic, Colorectal, Pancreatic, Liver, Stomach, Urologic Oncology)
- Support patients in meeting post-op milestones for discharge
- Perform clinical nursing interventions: port access, central line care, wound care, IV therapy, PCA pump management, telemetry monitoring
- Educate and support oncology patients and families throughout surgical recovery
- Implement isolation and neutropenic precautions as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response)
- Float to sister facilities and similar medical-surgical oncology units as required
- No chemotherapy or biotherapy administration required
Qualifications
- Active Colorado or Compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience (teaching hospital experience required)
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Experience in Level I trauma settings preferred
- Proficiency with Epic charting
- Flexible nurse-to-patient ratios (typically 1:6, may flex up)
- First-time travel nurses accepted with teaching hospital experience
- Weekend and floating coverage required
