- Employment Type: Travel/Locum Tenens
- Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (19:00 - 07:30)
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Charting System: Cerner (First Net/Power Chart)
- Medication System: Pyxis
- Facility Size: 402 staffed beds, 40 ER beds, 45 rooms
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1650 - $1770
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience (ER nurse jobs)
- Experience with conscious sedation, ventilator management, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV starts, and procedural sedation
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment completed
- Active DC Registered Nurse license (pending accepted, must be active by start date)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
- Preferred: CPI, ENPC, TNCC, BSN
- Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Two supervisor references required
Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Perform conscious sedation, ventilator care, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV starts, and procedural sedation
- Administer emergency medications and manage acute medical conditions (trauma, cardiac, respiratory, psychiatric)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, radiology, social services)
- Float to other hospital units as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner and follow isolation precautions
- Comply with facility policies regarding time off and attendance
