Key Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to students using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Prepare and disinfect operatories between patients and ensure instruments are sterilized properly
- Manage operatory supply inventory and restock as needed
- Support evening and Saturday clinics as required
- Review treatment plans with patients and explain procedures clearly
- Demonstrate professionalism and empathy in patient care
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure quality care and efficient clinic operations
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection control protocols
- Use Microsoft Office applications for communication and reporting
- Massachusetts Dental Assistant License (Required)
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA, EFDA, or FTDA) (Required)
- CPR and Radiology certifications (Required)
- Experience in a dental practice or academic dental care setting
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and treatment procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple students and support up to 8 operatories simultaneously
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred but not required
- Maintain current standing through continuing education (CE)
- Submit proof of immunizations and TB testing per institutional health guidelines:
- MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, and TB testing
- Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
