Position Overview

Sigma is seeking a Dental Assistant for a full-time 3+ month onsite contract opportunity in Boston, MA. This role supports a Pre-Doctoral Group Practice and involves working closely with students, faculty, and patients in a fast-paced, academic clinical setting.

The ideal candidate will be a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA or EFDA) with Massachusetts licensure, clinical experience, and strong communication skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic dental environment that fosters learning, teamwork, and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide chairside assistance to students using four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Prepare and disinfect operatories between patients and ensure instruments are sterilized properly
  • Manage operatory supply inventory and restock as needed
  • Support evening and Saturday clinics as required
  • Review treatment plans with patients and explain procedures clearly
  • Demonstrate professionalism and empathy in patient care
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure quality care and efficient clinic operations
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection control protocols
  • Use Microsoft Office applications for communication and reporting
Qualifications
  • Massachusetts Dental Assistant License (Required)
  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA, EFDA, or FTDA) (Required)
  • CPR and Radiology certifications (Required)
  • Experience in a dental practice or academic dental care setting
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology and treatment procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage multiple students and support up to 8 operatories simultaneously
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred but not required
Additional Requirements
  • Maintain current standing through continuing education (CE)
  • Submit proof of immunizations and TB testing per institutional health guidelines:
  • MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, and TB testing
  • Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
