Your Role: As the Process Automation and SaaS Architect at Elanco, you will be the strategic thought leader responsible for designing and governing our enterprise-wide automation ecosystem. In addition, you will provide technical oversight regarding solutions that leverage Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), providing holistic architecture positioning, principles and standards covering scale, reliability, security and interoperability. You will join a forward-thinking engineering team and be empowered to define the vision, tools, and standards that enable us to automate complex business processes at scale. This role is perfect for a seasoned architect who is passionate about building robust, scalable, and efficient automation solutions that drive significant business value, with experience governing SaaS solutions. This includes four strategic priorities: Pipeline Acceleration: Optimize the search and approval of high impact medicines with a focus on speed, cost and precision. Manufacturing Excellence: Improve the efficiency, quality and consistency of core manufacturing processes, specifically execution and equipment effectiveness. Sales Effectiveness: Simplify the process to find, trust and consume relevant customer insights that drive sales growth and improved engagement. Productivity: Expand operating margin through efficiency by systematically reducing our operating expenses across the company, improving profitability. Your Responsibilities: Automation and SaaS Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and own the enterprise-wide strategy and technical roadmap for process automation and the usage of SaaS, aligning with both engineering principles and business objectives. Architectural Design: Design a cohesive, scalable, and secure architecture for our automation and SaaS platforms, encompassing Agentic AI, workflow orchestration, and integration technologies. Technology Governance: Evaluate, select, and govern the suite of automation tools and platforms. Establish and enforce best practices, design patterns, and development standards for the engineering team. Solution Oversight: Provide architectural oversight and technical leadership for the design and implementation of complex automation solutions, ensuring they are robust, maintainable, and well-integrated. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business analysts and process owners to identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities for automation. Translate business requirements into technical blueprints. Margin Expansion: Act as the technical thought leader for automation opportunities that unlock productivity, supporting key business initiatives (such as Project Ascend). Promote knowledge sharing, providing mentorship, and driving the adoption of automation best practices. Integration Expertise: Ensure interoperability and seamless integration between automation solutions and core enterprise systems, including ERP, CRM, and custom applications, using modern API and integration patterns. What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications): ·Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Required Experience:
8+ years proven experience as a solution or enterprise architect, with a specific focus on automation, integration and SaaS technologies. Automation Technology Mastery : Experience in modern automation concepts (including Agentic AI) and workflow orchestration tools. Software Engineering Foundation:
Strong background in software development principles, including knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, Python), APIs, and database technologies. Integration Platforms:
Experience with enterprise integration platforms, specifically Boomi, Azure Logic Apps. Model Context Protocol:
Understanding of emerging frameworks that facilitate integration between AI solutions and access external tools, data sources, and systems. Cloud Platform Proficiency:
Practical experience with Public Cloud, specifically Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and their Automation services (e.g., Azure Logic Apps). DevSecOps:
Proven experience with relevant DevSecOps concepts and tooling, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Git SCM, Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), Infrastructure-as-Code (HashiCorp Terraform).
