Position Overview
Mountain Gateway Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomy Instructor to join our Workforce Development team. The instructor will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training in phlebotomy techniques and procedures, preparing students for successful careers in healthcare. The ideal candidate will possess strong industry knowledge, professionalism, and a passion for education.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging and effective curriculum and lesson plans for phlebotomy training programs.
- Instruct students in proper phlebotomy techniques, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
- Evaluate student performance through assessments and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Foster a supportive, respectful, and confidential learning environment.
- Stay current with evolving standards and best practices in phlebotomy and healthcare industry regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues and staff to continuously improve program content and delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all college and industry standards related to phlebotomy training.
Qualifications
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent credential.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in phlebotomy practice, preferably within a clinical or healthcare setting.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Commitment to student success and professional development.
Additional Considerations
- Previous teaching or training experience is a plus.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
