Overview

As an HR Generalist to join our People & Culture (P&C) team, you’ll be a central point of contact for employees and management, providing broad support across HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, and compliance. You will help ensure HR programs and policies align with company goals, creating a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Onboarding: screen resumes, conduct interviews, create job postings, and manage new hire onboarding (including background checks and benefits orientation).
  • Employee Relations & Development: support HR managers with employee relations issues, help develop documentation, and conduct exit interviews to gather feedback.
  • Compliance and Policy: ensure HR practices are up-to-date and compliant; maintain employee files and records; assist with development and communication of policies and procedures.
  • HR Administration: handle administrative tasks such as processing employee changes in internal systems, maintaining job descriptions, tracking performance evaluations, and coordinating with external vendors and agencies.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, or related field; 0-3 years of HR experience.
  • Essential Skills: strong verbal and written communication, ability to manage multiple tasks, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: familiarity with HR software/HRIS, intermediate Microsoft Office skills, and knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Work Details

  • Location: In-office position at our Norwalk, CT headquarters.
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST, with occasional meetings outside core hours.
  • Travel: Some overnight travel may be required.
  • Work Environment: Professional office setting; role largely sedentary with repetitive hand and wrist motions; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Salary: Range $28.00 to $31.00/hour with yearly bonus potential (based on applicable factors and location).
