Overview

Ascent Hospitality is looking for a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to be our Night Auditor. The Night Auditor works at the front desk of a hotel during the night, and they must ensure that the quality and integrity of the establishment are maintained as diligently as during the day. Duties include completing activities in the Front Desk checklist, performing marketing duties (upselling) to generate additional revenue, providing optimum service and satisfaction to hotel/restaurant guests and visitors, and following security and liability measures to protect the assets of the hotel and the Company.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities)

  • Balancing the accounts from day shift
  • Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
  • Manage front desk activity and handle guest check-ins and check-outs
  • Inform customers about payment methods and verify that I.D. and payment methods match
  • Register guests collecting necessary information (e.g., contact details and dates of stay)
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by scheduling wake-up calls and fulfilling guest requests
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Create invoices, bills and checks for vendors, employees and contractors
  • Manage and update official documentation pertaining to the role
  • Ensure end-of-day activities are completed
  • Answer calls and queries related to potential bookings
  • Provide information about the hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready for check-in and that departures are completed on time
  • Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized experiences for guests and event attendees
  • Maintain knowledge of standards and company policies
  • Complete the computerized audit function for the hotel at the end of the business day, including recording daily financial transactions and posting credit card charges

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Six (6) months related experience or training preferred
  • Previous experience as a hotel Front Desk Agent preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English and communicate with guests and team members of other departments
  • Familiar with computer operation and office equipment
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks; typical physical requirements of a hotel front desk role
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Close, distance, and color vision required
  • Ability to work overnight hours (10:00–11:00 pm start) and stay alert for at least 8 hours
