Position Summary
The HR Specialist works closely with the HR Manager to support and implement HR initiatives, policies, and procedures. This role focuses on employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, recordkeeping, and overall HR operations, ensuring a positive and productive workplace environment.
Salary
$48,000 - $95,000 - Depending on experience
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assisting with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Supporting employee relations by addressing questions, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner
- Preparing and facilitating new employee onboarding and orientation programs
- Administering benefits, including tracking eligibility, scheduling enrollment meetings, and assisting employees with benefit-related inquiries
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, reports, and personnel files
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Participating in HR initiatives and projects to support organizational goals
- Updating and maintaining job descriptions, career tracks, and HR documentation as requested
- Managing HR documentation and ensuring proper filing, scanning, and naming conventions
- Assisting in performance management processes, including evaluations and performance improvement plans
- Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information
- Performing administrative duties as assigned
- Ensuring case management software (CMS) feed is cleared daily
- Ensuring emails are cleared daily
- Performing other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in human resources or a related administrative role
- Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (experience with Paylocity preferred)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
