Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is actively recruiting a Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation Practice Group. This position is ideal for attorneys with 3–4 years of patent litigation experience. A technical background is advantageous, but not required for those with strong litigation credentials. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact, complex patent disputes with a team of seasoned legal professionals.
Location:
Washington, D.C.
Duties:
Handle all aspects of patent litigation, including pre-suit investigations, pleadings, discovery, claim construction, and trial preparation
Draft motions, briefs, memoranda, and correspondence related to patent disputes
Conduct legal and technical research to support litigation strategies
Work closely with expert witnesses and assist in preparation for deposition and trial testimony
Participate in hearings, depositions, and client meetings
Collaborate with litigation teams to develop and execute case strategy
Requirements:
3–4 years of experience in patent litigation
Technical background (preferred but not required with sufficient litigation experience)
Strong understanding of IP litigation processes, including claim construction and discovery
Admitted to practice law in either New York or Washington, D.C.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Solid academic record
Certifications:
Active Bar membership in New York or Washington, D.C.
Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stakes legal environment
