Dynamic, fast-growing special events and catering company is seeking a passionate Event Ops/Sales professional for a Director of Venue Sales role.
The Director of Venue Sales is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue and optimizing sales performance across several venues. This role involves overseeing the sales operations for multiple properties, managing a diverse team of direct reports, and implementing strategies to maximize venue utilization and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, sales acumen, and a comprehensive understanding of the event industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a unified sales strategy for multiple venues to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Lead and develop a high-achieving sales team that scales with the organization’s growth.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations to the team, including weekly/monthly 1:1 meetings and quarterly training sessions.
- Foster collaboration and share best practices across the sales teams of each property to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including corporate clients, event planners, and strategic partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to drive repeat business and loyalty.
- Oversee the preparation and negotiation of sales proposals, contracts, and agreements for each venue.
- Analyze sales performance data, market trends, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions and adjustments.
- Work with the leadership team to establish annual sales goals, ensure understanding and implementation, and maintain documentation of achievements.
- Develop the annual budget for the venue sales department in collaboration with leadership, ensuring cost efficiency and revenue targets.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop and implement targeted promotional campaigns and initiatives.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
