Brevay Cycling
Overview
Join to apply for the
Brand Strategy Consultant
role at
Brevay Cycling .
Brevay is a sustainable cycling brand based out of Seattle, Washington. Founded in 2023, Brevay is a brand that invites more people into cycling in a welcoming, fun, and less pretentious way, especially women and other underrepresented voices that have historically been excluded in the cycling community. We build products that perform well, but we’re doing it differently.
Our founder’s graduate school research demonstrated a threshold of stiffness needed for performance in cycling shoes, with a shift away from carbon fiber toward more sustainable materials. This ethos has expanded our product vision from shoes to an entire apparel product line. We are growing our brand and community and now need marketing experts/creatives to help realize this vision.
Our team
We are a small, scrappy, part-time team with backgrounds in product, engineering, apparel design, partnerships, and business operations. As we prepare to launch our first product line in 2026, we’re adding two roles to help shape the brand identity, voice, and cultural impact.
The roles
Brand Strategist
(month-ish long contract, ideally transitioning to advisor for equity)
Founding Creative/Visual Lead
(monthly retainer and equity)
We are posting these roles in tandem; we want to bring them on at the same time to ensure alignment in brand and creative direction for long-term success.
Note: We want to bring on individuals, not an agency. Limited funding and a desire for long-term collaboration influence this decision. You’ll help set the tone for the brand and should feel excited to be part of what we’re building.
Brand Strategist Scope of work
Brand positioning and storytelling (refining mission, vision, and values)
Visual identity support (guidelines, social templates, mood boards)
Tone of voice / messaging / one-liners (for web, social, community)
Marketing assets (graphics, launch campaign concepts)
Website / product copy direction / support
Proposed deliverables
Refreshed logo and typography (may involve external designer)
Updated brand guidelines deck (one-liners, mission, vision, copy guidance)
Mood board and social guidance
Launch campaign concept
Kickstarter campaign concept
Who we’re looking for
A proven brand builder with experience in brand strategy, creative direction, or cultural marketing (preferably in lifestyle, sports, or sustainability-driven companies)
Passionate about cycling, sustainability, and community-driven brands
A visionary storyteller who turns values and mission into narratives that resonate with our consumer
Experience shaping brands from early stage to scale, ideally with launch or category-defining experience
Deep connections to culture (cycling, outdoor, design, fashion, sustainability) and ability to translate insights into brand relevance
Strong leadership skills to inspire internal teams and external creative partners
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable wearing many hats
Ideally located in Seattle or the Pacific Northwest; most work is remote with opportunities for in-person meetings
Founding Creative/Visual Lead This role collaborates with the Brand Strategist to maintain the brand vision. We welcome a flexible skill set and expect the person to own contracting external creatives as needed (e.g., graphic designers for packaging/lifestyle merch, video/photography for assets) and translate the vision into final products.
Scope of work
Create assets aligned with the brand (photo, video, and/or graphic)
Design our visual look online (website and socials)
Support creative for Kickstarter and launch campaigns
Coordinate with outside creatives to translate the creative vision into projects
Who we’re looking for
A creative with experience in videography, photography, and leading creative direction on projects (preferably in lifestyle, sports, or sustainability-driven companies)
Passionate about cycling, sustainability, and community-driven brands
A storyteller who translates values and mission into narratives that resonate with our consumer
Located in the Pacific Northwest (ideally Seattle)
