Overview

Well established, reputable organization located in Indianapolis is looking for a Director, Business Planning. This role reports to the COO and focuses on forecasting, demand planning, and network optimization to influence positive financial results. Location: Indianapolis, Indiana. Job type: Permanent. Work hours: 8am to 4pm. Education: Bachelor's degree. Relocation assistance is available. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Responsibilities

Lead forecasting, demand planning, and network optimization to ensure cost-effective short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts while maintaining reliable customer service. Develop/refine business plans to optimize volume and mix and balance the network in both steady-state and offline asset conditions. Serve as a subject matter expert in demand planning, capacity management, and revenue forecasting; drive key initiatives including monthly demand plans, consumption modeling, network strategy optimization, and business integration. Integrated Business Planning Leadership & Execution: Lead the enterprise-wide process integrating demand planning, supply chain management, financial forecasting, and operational execution to drive strategic alignment. Market Intelligence & Demands Forecasting: Monitor industry trends, customer service behaviors, regulatory shifts, and competitive activity to inform planning assumptions and decisions. Demand & Capacity Planning: Develop short- and long-range forecasts balancing customer demand with operational capacity and financial targets. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Executive Engagement: Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Strategy to ensure end-to-end alignment of demand signals, service capabilities, and budget assumptions. Network Optimization, Cost & Mix Management: Manage network-wide waste allocation to balance cost and customer reliability; lead optimization efforts to mitigate costs and improve service efficiency. Analytics & Continuous Improvement: Develop KPIs and dashboards to measure forecast accuracy and supply-demand alignment. Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree (required) in business, supply chain management, or logistics. 10 years of experience in business planning, supply chain, or business operations with exposure to logistics or industrial services sectors. Qualifications & Skills

Experience level: Director (minimum 10 years). Skills: Strategic Planning. Benefits & Other Information

Salary: $180,000 – $200,000 per year with 35% annual bonus opportunity. Relocation assistance available.
