Overview
Well established, very reputable and growing organization located in Indianapolis is looking for a Director Business Planning. This role offers a very competitive compensation plan with a base salary ranging from $180k to $200k plus a 35% annual bonus opportunity. Relocation assistance is available. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Location: Indianapolis, Indiana. Job type: Permanent. Work hours: 8am to 4pm. Education: Bachelor’s degree. Responsibilities
Lead forecasting, demand planning, and network optimization to influence positive financial results for the company. Report to the COO and ensure cost‑effective short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts while maintaining reliable customer service. Develop and refine business plans to optimize volume and mix to balance the network efficiently in both steady state and offline asset conditions. Act as subject matter expert in demand planning, capacity management, revenue forecasting, and drive key initiatives (monthly demand plans, consumption modeling, network strategy optimization, and business integration). Integrate demand planning, supply chain management, financial forecasting, and operational execution to drive strategic alignment across the enterprise. Facilitate monthly review meetings with cross-functional leadership, balancing demand, supply, and financial trade-offs to optimize performance. Monitor industry trends, customer service behaviors, regulatory shifts, and competitive activity to inform planning assumptions and strategic decisions. Collaborate with commercial and strategy teams to assess market developments and their impact on volume, service mix, pricing, and profitability. Develop short and long-range forecasts balancing customer demand with operational capacity and financial targets. Identify demand variances and align production, routing, and staffing strategies to optimize service delivery and asset utilization. Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance and Strategy teams to ensure end-to-end alignment of demand signals, service capabilities, and budget assumptions. Serve as a liaison between field operations and executive leadership to ensure operational realities are reflected in planning assumptions. Lead network optimization processes to mitigate costs, maximize service efficiency, and resolve key supply-demand challenges. Develop KPI’s and dashboards to measure forecast accuracy and supply-demand alignment. Education
Bachelor’s degree (required) in business, supply chain management or logistics. Experience
10 years of experience in business planning, supply chain or business operations with significant exposure to logistics, or industrial services sectors. Qualifications
