The Finance and Corporate Services team is seeking a strategic and experienced Privacy Director, with broad experience in employee and customer privacy to lead our global privacy initiatives through Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), emphasizing automation, data-driven insights and AI-powered decision-making. The Director, Finance Privacy is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the organization’s privacy program along with providing strategic guidance on privacy compliance and best practices to internal stakeholders. This role will collaborate with leadership to integrate privacy considerations into business teams and prepare and present regular reports to leadership on the status of the privacy program. The Director of Finance and Corporate Services Privacy plays a crucial role in maintaining the organization’s privacy maturity and compliance posture, acting as a trusted advisor and leading the transformation of the privacy operations through streamlining and automation. Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field AND 8+ years of finance or financial compliance experience OR equivalent experience. 3+ years experience working with global data privacy laws (e.g., GDRP, PDPA, CCPA ) 3+ years’ experience managing and developing a team of professionals 2+ years' experience supporting or scaling privacy programs in complex, matrixed organizations. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in law, public policy or a related field; certification in privacy management (e.g., CIPP, CIPM or CIPT preferred) Business, Engineering, or related field AND 3+years’ experience in privacy compliance OR equivalent experience. 5+ years’ experience in privacy compliance 5+ years of people management experience Experience leading in matrixed or global delivery environments, particularly across virtual teams. Significant proven experience in a privacy role, with a track record of successfully managing privacy programs in complex organizations Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders at all levels Demonstrated experience automating and improving privacy program processes such as privacy impact assessments, privacy inquiries intake, etc. Experience evaluating the design and effectiveness of controls Finance Compliance M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Legal, Risk and Compliance teams to ensure consistent interpretation and implementation of regulatory and audit requirements Leading the Finance and Corporate Services Global privacy program and providing operational expertise related to data privacy and protection. Coordinating with cross-functions partners and vendors to ensure the effective implementation of privacy functions Providing sound privacy compliance advice to all aspects of the business as a subject matter expert Board member representing Finance Privacy on the Employee Data Governance Board. People Management & Team Development Managing privacy operations and risk management initiatives to protect data assets and information Coordinating with cross-functions partners and vendors to ensure the effective implementation of privacy functions Implementing and maintaining privacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations Oversee data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and ensure proper handling of personal data in accordance with regulations Ensure Audit Readiness: Oversee preparation and adherence to audit standards, ensuring robust controls for financial reporting processes Performing key risk management activities and providing compliance advice to all aspects of the business Ensuring customer and employee data is collected, shared, and used appropriately, while safeguarding company proprietary data Audit Readiness: Oversee preparation and adherence to audit standards, ensuring robust controls for financial reporting processes Training and Awareness Providing sound compliance advice to all aspects of the business as a subject matter expert Advise on Data Protection: Serve as a subject matter expert on data protection controls, regulatory readiness, and audit strategies Benefits/perks listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Microsoft and the country where you work.
