Job Title: OBGYN Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens Location: Port Lavaca, Texas 77979 (Texas nursing jobs) Employment Type: Locum tenens, Travel Nurse Assignment Healthcare Setting: 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, Level I Maternal and Neonatal Care Shift: 12-hour night shifts Hours per Week: 36 Assignment Duration: 14 weeks (Start: 11/12/2025 – End: 2/18/2026) Departments: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, Lactation, Antepartum Average Deliveries: 15-20 per month EMR System: OBIX Qualifications – OBGYN Registered Nurse
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (or compact state) Nursing certification required Minimum 1 year of recent experience in OBGYN, Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, or maternal care Proficient in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Strong assessment and clinical skills Rural healthcare experience preferred Ability to work independently in a cross-trained, small team environment Familiarity with OBIX EMR system is a plus Key Responsibilities – OBGYN RN Travel Nurse
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, Lactation, and Antepartum units Conduct patient assessments, monitor fetal and maternal status, and respond to emergencies Collaborate with a skilled healthcare team to ensure safe, effective patient care Accurately document care using OBIX EMR Educate and support patients and families throughout the childbirth process Why Choose Port Lavaca, Texas?
