Overview
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. This position is located under the Chief Medical Executive Office, in the Directorate of Clinical Support Services in the CAPT James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (North Chicago, IL). Responsibilities include general and subspecialty outpatient clinics, virtual healthcare (electronic consultation and clinical video-telehealth), inpatient consultation, electromyography, and graduate medical education. The Physiatrist is responsible to the Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and must have working knowledge of outpatient services in physical medicine and rehabilitation, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, kinesiotherapy, social work, and rehabilitation nursing care. The incumbent may have a faculty appointment and participate in academic activities of the affiliated medical college. FUNCTIONS OR SCOPE OF ASSIGNED DUTIES:
