Overview
Data Center Section Manager – Power (Remote) at AECOM. This role focuses on leading energy solutions for data centers, with a heavy emphasis on natural gas generation and substations, working across AECOM’s expansive energy practice to deliver innovative power solutions for data center developers and high-tech clients. Responsibilities
Lead and Inspire: Collaborate across AECOM’s energy practice and other business lines to deliver integrated, cutting-edge solutions for data center energy projects. Inspire and monitor multidisciplinary teams to achieve excellence in project delivery and client satisfaction. Represent AECOM as a thought leader in the energy sector and shape the future of power delivery and generation for data centers. Drive Growth and Innovation: Spearhead business development by identifying opportunities, leading pursuits, and crafting winning proposals. Build and nurture relationships with data center developers, high-tech clients, and key stakeholders. Develop and execute strategies to expand AECOM’s presence in the data center energy market. Deliver Complex Projects: Oversee a portfolio of design, development, and implementation of natural gas power plants and substations that meet data center needs. Deliver fast-paced projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. Address technical challenges with creativity, leveraging global expertise. Collaborate and Build Capabilities: Strengthen technical capabilities across AECOM’s energy practice and drive continuous improvement. Partner with Buildings + Places and Environment to deliver holistic data center solutions. Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to keep AECOM at the forefront of energy innovation. Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrate strong leadership, inspire diverse teams, and build relationships across stakeholders. Communicate effectively and maintain a proactive, results-oriented mindset. Business Acumen: Experience in business development, including leading pursuits and proposals. Identify market opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them. Understand financial metrics and project economics. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: BA/BS and 10 years of relevant experience with a focus on natural gas power plants or substations, or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education, including 2 years of leadership. Proven success in leading pursuits, managing client relationships, and driving business growth. Understanding of energy requirements for data centers, including reliability, scalability, and sustainability. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations. Compensation and Location
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is USD 170,000 – USD 205,000 annually. This is a remote work opportunity. About AECOM
