Job Description This role is field-based and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, drive sales performance, effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and provide customer needs solving capability to maximize short and long term sales performance. Place the patient at the center of all efforts and operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections and calls to action to close on sales calls.
Aim to serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, disease states, product, clinical and sales data; share intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize strategy.
Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
Ability to adapt selling approach to customer style/behavior; develop sales strategies and offer innovative ideas to maximize opportunities.
Ability to travel adequately to cover territory, including overnight trainings and meetings.
Valid driver’s license; able to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
Must satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities within the assigned territory.
Ability to satisfy all credentialing requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses. AbbVie provides resources to answer questions about credentialing.
Key Stakeholders External: Specialty Physicians in therapeutic brand areas, pharmacists, nurses, and others depending on brand plan. Internal: In-field team members, Sales Management, Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, and Brand Plan stakeholders.
Additional Information The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation will depend on factors including geographic location. This range may be modified in the future.
