HDR is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Principal Project Manager-Engineering to join our Northern California Transportation Business Group. The ideal candidate will have experience working with transportation agencies and local municipalities in Northern California, delivering a variety of infrastructure improvement projects. Experience with multi-modal transportation elements, managed lanes improvements, safety improvements, and grade separations across the full project lifecycle from feasibility and planning through design and construction is desirable. Familiarity with Caltrans project development processes and project delivery models such as design-bid-build, design-build, and CMGC is preferred. Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate work of single or multi-discipline teams throughout the project s lifecycle (from development and initiation to close-out) Manage any project assignment regardless of size, visibility, number of disciplines, technical complexity or staff Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently Establish client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with other staff and stakeholders Coordinate staffing and workload through the project life cycle and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule Track financial aspects of projects and align team effort to meet budget and schedule Work with Accounting, Operations and Business leadership for periodic project reviews Implement QA/QC procedures Supervise large project staffs and mentor less-experienced Project Managers Lead pursuit of new project opportunities and lead proposal development efforts Lead and/or support client development for specific transportation clients in Northern California, collaborating with Market Sector Leads, Business Development Leader and Client Development Leaders Perform other duties as needed Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications Developed business relationships with Federal, State, and regional agencies Demonstrated experience in successfully leading project pursuits PMP certification Participation with industry organizations Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering 15 years related experience A minimum 7 years project management experience Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng) MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience is a plus) Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of HDRs employee-owned culture What We Believe
