Overview
The Division of Cystic Fib fibrosis, Pulmonary, and Pediatric Sleep Medicine at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital is seeking a BE/BC pediatric pulmonologist to serve as Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology. Applicants must have fellowship training and be board eligible/certified in pediatric sleep medicine. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership and practice in accordance with the core values of respect, trust, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to clinical excellence. Responsibilities
Provide leadership as Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology with a strong foundation in clinical pulmonology and oversight of care for patients with chronic and complex respiratory conditions. Manage patients with cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease of prematurity, chronic asthma, general pediatric pulmonary disorders, congenital airway anomalies, and pediatric sleep disorders. Demonstrate competency in pediatric flexible fiber-optic bronchoscopy and participate in graduate medical education. Lead and participate in clinical research initiatives, with support from the Office of Human Research. Contribute to multidisciplinary CF care teams and oversee related programs (nutrition, psychology, respiratory therapy, social services). Engage in program development and continuous improvement within the CF Center and Pulmonary Division, including adult transition under the direction of an adult CF specialist team where applicable. Participate in hospital-based and ambulatory sleep services, including PAP therapy and pediatric sleep laboratory activities. Qualifications
Board-eligible or board-certified in pediatric pulmonology and pediatric sleep medicine with fellowship training. Evidence of leadership abilities and commitment to clinical excellence. Strong clinical experience with chronic pediatric respiratory diseases and interest in education and research. Willingness to participate in graduate medical education and to contribute to the Division and Center's mission. About the Program & Hospital
The Cystic Fibrosis and Pulmonary Center at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital is a Cystic Fibrosis Foundation accredited CF Center. The division includes a complete CF team with pediatric psychology, respiratory therapy, nutrition and social services specialists. The CF Center participates in research trials identified through the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutic Development Network (TDN). Additional programs within the division include multidisciplinary care for neuromuscular diseases, a severe and chronic asthma clinic (rated among top facilities for pediatric asthma care), and a pediatric ambulatory sleep clinic offering PAP therapy in addition to a hospital-based AASM-accredited pediatric sleep lab that studies over 600 patients per year. The Pulmonary Division performs flexible fiber optic bronchoscopy with state-of-the-art equipment. This is a full-time employed position with the Division of Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary, and Pediatric Sleep Medicine, part of the Memorial Physician Group.
