Overview The Position: A publicly traded utilities company is seeking a Commercial Contracts Attorney to support its lean in‑house legal team with contract review and negotiation, allowing senior counsel to focus on more substantive matters. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, vendor, and IT agreements across both company and third‑party paper.

This attorney will work closely with business stakeholders across the company. The team is looking for someone with strong issue‑spotting skills, clear communication, and a collaborative, business‑friendly approach in a fast‑paced environment. Prior utilities industry experience is preferred, though candidates with strong technology sector contracting experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, vendor agreements, and IT contracts for the company and third parties.

Support senior counsel by handling contract review and negotiation to enable focus on substantive matters.

Collaborate with business stakeholders across the organization to identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks.

Qualifications

Experience in contract review and negotiation, with strong issue‑spotting skills.

Clear communication and a collaborative, business‑friendly approach in a fast‑paced environment.

Prior utilities industry experience preferred; strong technology sector contracting experience will also be considered.

Engagement Details Targeting an ASAP start, fully remote, 20 hours per week, through the end of the year.

The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $90 and $100. This range is an estimate; compensation will be based on qualifications, skillset, relevant experience, client needs, project requirements, and applicable law.
