Overview
Grainger is hiring a Senior Analyst, Supply Chain Optimization and Advanced Analytics to help us make better decisions across the supply chain. These analytics-based decisions decide where, when and how much inventory is placed to keep customers happy. You will report to the Sr Manager, Supply Chain Optimization & Advanced Analytics. Obtain, manipulate, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data from diverse sources (Snowflake, S3) Work with data using R, Python, Julia, or Gurobi Deploy models and solutions using Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Apache Airflow Build & validate advanced analytical and statistical models, using forecasting, optimization, and simulation e.g. linear programming, integer programming etc. Leverage analytics tools to identify problems and implement solutions Quantify business impacts and communicate actionable recommendations with business partners to drive informed decisions Projects (sample)
Build a model that predicts the impact promotions have on demand and recommend inventory purchase quantities to ensure we maintain high service levels throughout the promotion. Forecast supplier purchase order lead times with prediction intervals Create an optimization model that prioritizes what we buy from a supplier, while ensuring the total amount purchased fits within a truckload space constraint. The model should evaluate different quantities and combinations of items to maximize the orders that we can fulfill with the purchased inventory. Qualifications
Graduate degree (MS or equivalent) in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or a related quantitative field preferred Be data driven and have 2-3 years experience with analytics tools (e.g. R, Python, SQL) and data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI) Fluency in speaking Japanese required Supply chain, forecasting and optimization knowledge preferred Experience articulating ambiguous business questions and using quantitative modeling techniques to arrive at a solution Experience processing, filtering, validating, and presenting large quantities of data (Millions to Billions of rows) Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $85,300.00 to $142,200.00. The range reflects the potential base pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual base pay compensation will depend, in part, on factors such as geographic work location and relevant experience and skills. The anticipated compensation range described above is subject to change and the compensation ultimately paid may be higher or lower than the range described above. The pay range provided above is not a guarantee of compensation.
