Employment Type: Direct Hire | Hybrid (Remote + Onsite for Events)

Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 annually + Quarterly Team Bonus

About the Roles

Wheeler Staffing Partners is recruiting on behalf of a leading hospital system in Detroit, MI, and has two exciting recruiter opportunities available. Both positions work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with high requisition loads and require travel 3–4 times per month for recruitment events, facility visits, or campus engagements. These roles are primarily remote otherwise. Candidates must have a personal vehicle and the ability to represent the organization professionally at events.

Position 1: Healthcare Recruiter

Focus: Hospital-based recruitment across multiple service lines

Responsibilities

  • Manage a requisition load averaging 60+ openings.
  • Partner with hiring managers and department leaders to define staffing needs.
  • Source, screen, and engage candidates through ATS reports, LinkedIn, Indeed, referrals, and networking.
  • Maintain and optimize ATS postings to ensure visibility and accuracy.
  • Conduct intake meetings, facility rounding, and maintain strong communication with hiring leaders.
  • Review applications, negotiate offers, and ensure timely hiring decisions.
  • Promote Employee Referral Programs (ERP) and engage employees in sourcing.
  • Attend job fairs, community events, and recruitment initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of healthcare recruiting experience (hospital or clinical strongly preferred).
  • Experience managing high-volume requisition loads (60+ roles).
  • Strong sourcing skills and proficiency with ATS and job boards.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Position 2: Campus Healthcare Recruiter

Focus: Building healthcare talent pipelines through university partnerships and campus outreach

Responsibilities

  • Manage a requisition load of 40–50 positions (varies seasonally with campus activity).
  • Build relationships with university faculty, career services, and student organizations.
  • Represent the organization at campus career fairs, school events, and community job fairs.
  • Source students and early-career candidates through ATS, LinkedIn, Indeed, and networking.
  • Develop strategies for campus recruitment, including media recommendations and niche outreach.
  • Screen applicants, conduct interviews, and negotiate offers.
  • Track pipelines, recruitment metrics, and requisition status to ensure timely hiring.

Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years of healthcare recruitment experience required.
  • Campus recruitment experience required (faculty engagement and student outreach).
  • Ability to manage 40–50 requisitions in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Strong professionalism and communication skills.

Shared Requirements (Both Roles)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel locally with a personal vehicle (3–4 times/month).
  • Comfortable transporting materials for events (up to 30 lbs.).
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and client management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines.
