Compass One Healthcare is hiring: COOK (PART TIME) in Mount Pleasant

Overview

We are hiring immediately for a part-time COOK position at Morrison Healthcare, part of Compass One Healthcare, located at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital, Mount Pleasant, MI 48858. Online applications accepted only. Schedule includes rotating weekends and holidays; shifts vary: 10:00 am–6:30 pm, 5:30 am–2:00 pm, 8:30 am–3:00 pm, and 10:00 am–4:00 pm. Pay range: $15.50–$18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.


• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, ensuring food is at the proper temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared items.


• Uses established ticket procedures during service and maintains records from the area worked.


• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures.


• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized; stores food and supplies per standards.


• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.


• Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.


• Assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required.


• Reports maintenance needs, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.


• Attends in-service and safety meetings.


• Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.


• Performs work safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.


• Performs other duties as assigned.


• Ensures proper presentation, portion control and serving temperatures; follows HACCP standards.


• Personal commitment to safety of self and others.


• Adheres to all company policies and procedures, including proper glove use, oven mitts or steam gloves when handling hot items, slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience is required.
