About The Position

Reporting to a Supervisor, RSG Telesales, the Telesales Specialist, RSG is responsible for selling customer registrations in Red Cross community training classes primarily to individuals (B2C), and also to small or large businesses with fewer than eight employees. The role also involves selling Red Cross Store retail training products and supplies to consumer and business customers. The Business to Consumer Telesales Specialist uses highly specialized sales skills to understand customer needs and recommend the most appropriate course and product.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls for customers interested in Red Cross community training courses or Red Cross Store products and supplies.
• Act as a consultant to uncover customer training and retail product needs.
• Recommend and sell Red Cross training classes and Store products based on customer needs.
• Handle credit card transactions and place training and retail product orders through sales systems.
• Accurately document and update all cases with required call information in Salesforce.
• Upsell Red Cross Store retail products that complement class enrollment.
• Handle customer returns, exchanges or cancellations of Store product orders following policies.
• Answer customer questions and address concerns about classes or products.
• Responsible for attaining Training revenue of $325K per year and Retail revenue of $80K per year.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma/GED certificate; higher education is a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of sales experience within a Call Center (B2C experience not required).
• Ability to effectively multi-task across multi-system platforms.
• Strong influence and negotiation skills are a plus.

Skills And Abilities:

• Proven consumer sales skills; product sales experience is a plus.
• Ability to quickly assess customer needs or issues and determine solutions.
• Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Intermediate computer skills and ability to use MS Office and Salesforce.com or similar CRM applications.
• Attention to detail; good organizational skills and reliable, punctual work habits.
• Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong sales and people skills (good listener and empathetic).
• Customer service, sales and/or influencing others.

Compensation & Benefits

The Telesales Specialist, RSG role offers a competitive hourly wage complemented by a commission-based incentive plan. Pay information includes a target hourly rate of $16.15/hr. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Salary is aligned to geographic location and may vary based on skills, experience, and market factors.
