Position description The University of California, San Diego (UCSD), Department of Pediatrics and Rady Children\'s Hospital of San Diego (RCHSD) are committed to academic excellence within the faculty, fellows, staff, and student body. The Division of Pediatric Nephrology is seeking to recruit pediatric nephrologists or physician-scientists at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to join a group of 7 faculty members.

RCHSD provides a comprehensive Kidney Care Center with general nephrology, transplant, dialysis clinics, and a five-station pediatric dialysis unit. Activities include shared care for 15-25 chronic hemo- and peritoneal dialysis patients and 10-15 kidney transplant recipients per year, plus CRRT and apheresis programs. Consultative services are provided at UCSD NICU, Jacobs Medical Center, La Jolla, Sharp Mary Birch, Kaiser-Permanente, and Rady satellite clinics in northern San Diego County and Riverside County. The Division of Nephrology has been ranked in the top 30 nationally by US News & World Report, most recently 13th.

As clinical faculty, successful candidates will serve as attendings in the outpatient clinic and on the inpatient Nephrology service, supervise and mentor pediatric residents, fellows, and medical students, and actively participate in scholarly and research endeavors to contribute to the department\'s academic mission.

The appropriate series and appointment level (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will be based on the candidate\'s background and experience. Full descriptions of each series are provided below:

Qualifications Basic qualifications

(required at time of application)

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, DO, or MD/PhD in health-related fields.

Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Nephrology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
