Canon USA's Sales Training team empowers sales representatives to excel in selling Canon's print and scan hardware and software solutions through dynamic self-paced and instructor-led training programs. The role focuses on performance-based learning solutions for new product launches and strategic initiatives, including the design and development of microlearning, web-based training, and both virtual and in-person instructor-led programs for the sales force. This position may be based in one of Canon’s regional offices listed above. The office attendance pattern may change based on business needs. Your Impact / Responsibilities
Conduct needs assessments to identify performance gaps and define course goals. Design and develop engaging, AI-enhanced learning experiences using adult learning principles and instructional design models to personalize content, automate workflows, and optimize learner engagement. Create content using tools like Articulate 360 and Synthesia, including microlearning, eLearning, and instructor-led materials such as instructor guides and student guides. Proactively engage with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content, clarify technical details, and ensure timely input throughout design and development to maintain content accuracy and relevance. Manage multiple projects simultaneously using project management best practices. Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve learning solutions. Stay current with trends in instructional design, learning technologies, and print solutions. Complete control documents and maintain records per department standards. Qualifications / What You Bring
Bachelor's degree preferred in a relevant field or equivalent experience with 3 to 5 years of instructional design experience in a corporate environment. Preferred concentration in Education, Instructional Technology, or related field. Proficiency with eLearning tools such as Articulate 360, Google Docs, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word; experience with Synthesia or similar video tools is a plus. Experience leveraging AI tools to personalize, automate, and optimize learning solutions. Skilled in designing microlearning, web-based training, and both virtual and in-person instructor-led training, including instructor guides and interactive content. Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE), and learner engagement strategies. Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills with the ability to work independently. Business acumen with understanding of sales processes and ability to align training with performance goals. Knowledge of enterprise office equipment, production print technologies, digital workflows, large format printing and integrated software solutions is a plus. Ability to travel domestically up to 25%. Must possess a clean valid state driver's license; driving is an essential function of the role and compliance with safety guidelines is required.
