Overview

In the role of Senior Maritime CAD/BIM Designer, we count on you to contribute to our Maritime Program (nationally and internationally) by developing CAD/BIM related products, including 3D digital models, construction contract drawings, as-builts record documents, reports and planning figures, graphics, and GIS related geo-referenced database interface models. Support our team across the Maritime Program in developing CAD/BIM products as described above. Act as a master of your craft with self-direction in developing above products with minimal direction; demonstrate strong knowledge of construction plan content, sequencing, scale, layout, presentation, detailing standards; develop content and nomenclature for general notes and annotation; apply code standard detailing requirements. Provide support in developing earthwork, dredging, and construction material take-offs based on accurately drawn, proportioned, and scaled 3D models. Assimilate and manage a comprehensive project model with multi-disciplinary elements; serve as lead in generating necessary BIM elements per the Level of Development (LOD) in the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP) and project scope. Create and maintain the comprehensive project model, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output, conforming to project-wide standards for layering, annotation, presentation, referencing, indexing, naming, abbreviations, and numbering. Demonstrate proficiency with software used to produce Digital Delivery outputs (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit); pursue self-learning or company-sponsored training to master required tools. Understand engineering documentation and plan presentation for all disciplines; mentor and develop junior CAD/BIM specialists within the Maritime program and other disciplines. Perform activities to achieve above expectations, including: Model BIM elements with correct constraints; prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and diagrams; maintain discipline models and project information; produce discipline-specific documentation with accurate annotations on modeling output. Monitor, improve, and maintain company standards and model health; coordinate design with other discipline models via Design Reviews and 3D Coordination; execute all Digital Delivery requirements. Contribute to the development and modernization of the Maritime program’s digital production capabilities; develop tools, templates, standard blocks, and promote learning. Perform independent QA/QC of digital design work; collaborate with the digital production team and leadership to prioritize and deliver to quality, schedule, and budget. Actively participate in HDR’s culture of employee ownership and support cross-sector projects when available. Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of a two-year associate degree in engineering technology or design and drafting technology or similar curriculum. Advanced proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD software; experience with Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation; some experience with Autodesk Revit BIM software. At minimum, 15 years related industry experience, with 10 years in marine structural and port related design. Required Qualifications

Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience. Minimum of 5 years digital design (BIM element authoring) and 3 years digital delivery (model management) experience. Comprehensive understanding of all discipline relations and operations of building systems. Advanced skillset in 3D design software, document management, and 3D coordination tools; proficient in Microsoft Office and communication tools. Familiar with industry standards, discipline codes and specifications; basic automation and programming concepts; familiarity with content creation and management concepts. Strong client service, communication, and presentation skills; ability to provide technical support as a first line of contact; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. What We Believe
