You will overhaul and repair a wide variety of aircraft systems and components including engines, avionics, landing gear, hydraulics, and air frames. You will test, calibrate and repair electrical and mechanical systems, including assemblies and subassemblies, using technical manuals and schematics. You will ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards, technical requirements, and regulatory guidelines. You will mentor and assist lower-level mechanics, providing guidance on standard practices and procedures. Requirements

The position may require travel to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites; you must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods. You will be required to complete a pre-appointment physical examination. This is a bargaining unit position. You will wear PPE (helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, safety shoes) as required. You must obtain and maintain an interim/final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is subject to an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Overtime or night differential pay may be required. Rotating shift work. Exposure to high noise levels. Certain incentives may be authorized to eligible selectees.
