The Senior Manager of Donor and Community Engagement will plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive annual giving and community relations program. This includes direct mail, e-giving, constituent giving programs, and personal solicitations. The Senior Manager will advise and participate in the development of short- and long-term strategies that support LBCC’s philanthropic priorities, increase the number of donors to the LBCC Foundation, and foster a culture of philanthropy among college constituents. The role requires a commitment to service excellence, fundraising ethics, integrity, and diversity. The Senior Manager will manage relationships with major donor prospects likely to give $10,000 or more and will develop and implement strategies for a portfolio of 100-120 donor prospects, including identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts. This position acts as the primary front-line fundraiser for capital campaigns conducted by the Foundation and assists the Executive Director with campaign strategy. Required Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree. Training in fundraising, planned giving or donor programs is desirable; CFRE certification is desirable. Proven track record in planning, executing, and measuring fundraising strategies. Experience managing a development team and project management. Strong ethics, writing and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, fundraising software, and databases. Knowledge of fundraising, donor engagement best practices. Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered on a year-for-year basis. Requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience in fundraising, donor development and annual giving, with fundraising experience in education or non-profit settings. At least one year of experience closing charitable gifts valued at $10,000 or more. Requires knowledge of fundraising concepts (gifts, grants, pledges, endowments, etc.), ability to assess potential gifts, and to personally solicit funds. Ability to communicate complex funding information to all levels of college management, staff, Foundation Board, and community. Strong interpersonal, writing, and speaking skills and a high degree of personal integrity. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with college staff and to represent the Foundation in the community. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with developing a capital campaign in a higher education environment is strongly preferred. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is primarily in an office environment with extensive local travel; evening and weekend work may be required. Occasional on-campus presence is expected. Requires ability to use a computer and communicate with a diverse population. Responsibilities
Responsible for the general management of community relations and the annual giving campaign, including designing, planning, and executing fundraising programs, marketing communications, brand management, and donor experience to meet revenue and participation goals. Lead with the Executive Director to raise funds for the Ag Center Capital Campaign, including soliciting and procuring naming opportunities. Serve as the primary front-line fundraiser for all Foundation campaigns and coordinate with the Executive Director on campaign strategies and timelines. Manage a portfolio of 100-120 prospects and donors; develop individual plans for each donor. Develop strategic relationships with community members and donors to increase the Foundation's resources; represent LBCC and the LBCC Foundation at community events; maintain confidentiality of personal and financial information. Develop and execute segmentation strategies; analyze results to improve future strategies. Create a written master plan and calendar for all phases of annual giving and community engagement. Conduct regular assessments of annual giving and community engagement plans; collaborate to identify and qualify new major gift prospects. Assist with community donors, board members, and public relations; act as a liaison for the Foundation. Manage donor lists and updates for recognition walls and annual reports; provide program reports to the Executive Director and Foundation Board as requested. Recommend process improvements to increase engagement and maximize resources; work with teams to ensure collaborative fundraising efforts; adhere to Foundation and LBCC policies.
