Manager of Recruitment & Communications - School of Dance Location: Tallahassee, FL Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 61071 Responsibilities
Develops a comprehensive marketing strategy for the School of Dance, in collaboration with the College of Fine Arts Communication office and the School of Dance Chair, that highlights faculty accomplishments, student work, and academic programs as well as promotes performances and events. Works with the College of Fine Arts Communication staff to create compelling content and oversee the production of all major print publications essential to the overall marketing strategy. Manages all distributions (i.e. rack cards, postcards, posters, flyers) and highly visible communications, such as email and the school\'s website, to engage students, alumni, faculty, staff, donors, the greater Leon County community, and beyond. Coordinates with the Fine Arts Ticket Office and the University Business Administration staff to ensure the successful planning and execution of all ticketed School of Dance events, including ticketing logistics and financial reconciliation. Responsible for the regular evaluation of the effectiveness of the marketing strategy and making recommendations for improvement. Works with the College of Fine Arts Director of Student Success, MFA Director, BFA Director and Chair to devise recruitment strategies that align with the goals of the University, College of Fine Arts (CFA), and the School of Dance (SOD). Coordinates the faculties student recruitment efforts. Supplies faculty with current recruitment materials, including digital, social media, and print assets, for use at conferences and other events. Researches and identifies key college and dance fairs and represent the school at these events. Will require travel. Works with the College of Fine Arts Communication office to create compelling recruitment materials, including video, for print, electronic, and social media platforms. Gathers internal data about faculty connections that can be utilized to support the SoD comprehensive recruitment plan. Evaluates recruitment strategies, including social media campaigns, college fair attendance, and School of Dance program materials. Generate one sheets containing demographics and engagement summaries. Plans, organizes, and manages the School of Dance\'s community programs, such as the Summer Dance Intensive and various alumni and special events. Serves as Director of the Summer Dance Intensive, overseeing all operational aspects. This includes developing and implementing marketing and recruitment strategies, planning daily activities, and supervising staff as well as serving as the main point of contact for all participants and their families. Develops and maintains strong community partnerships with campus organizations, local entities, national dance organizations, and alumni. Serves as the primary coordinator for alumni relations, including maintaining up-to-date contact information, tracking professional achievements and associations, and facilitating communication between alumni, faculty, and College of Fine Arts Development and Communication offices. Acts as the primary liaison between the School of Dance and the Friends of Dance organization. Represents the School of Dance on university committees as appointed. Serves as School of Dance representative at events and engagements that are campus-wide and beyond to build relationships toward increased visibility, collaborative opportunities, and audience building. Responsible for smooth front of house operation for all School of Dance public events. Liaises with College of Fine Arts faculty to identify and recruit dance, theater, and/or arts administration students to provide house management for all public School of Dance events. Trains, supervises student house management staff. Recruits, trains and supervises OPS Communication Staff. Supervises Communication Graduate Assistant students. Recruits, trains and supervises Communication Interns. Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and four years experience related to media, communications, and/or marketing services or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years. Preferred Qualifications
A master\'s degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, Marketing, or a related field. Prior experience working specifically within a higher education setting, such as a university or community college. Experience in social media management and digital marketing strategies for recruitment and outreach. Familiarity with university policies, particularly FERPA regulations, and working within an academic environment. Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, program development, and event execution. This position is responsible for the strategic development and execution of all marketing, recruitment, and community engagement initiatives for the School of Dance. Proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including prospective students, parents, alumni, and community partners. Supervisory experience managing staff, volunteers, or student employees. Experience using data and metrics to analyze recruitment effectiveness and drive strategic decisions. Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of building connected communities in outreach and recruitment efforts. Previous experience with grant-funded programs related to community engagement. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for creating marketing materials, delivering presentations, and engaging with audiences. The ability to establish and nurture positive relationships with community leaders, businesses, donors, and educational institutions. Strong organizational, time management, budget management, and project management skills to handle multiple priorities and meet recruitment goals. Experience with customer relationship management systems (e.g., Slate) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities. About the University
