Responsibilities

Responsible for operational management and administrative direction of creative services within the Division of Student Academic Success, which includes the Division of Undergraduate Studies, Division of Enrollment Management, Student Veterans Center, and The Graduate School.

Provides visionary leadership, operational management, and development of marketing, media, and publication efforts. Develops, implements, and evaluates the annual communications plan. Leads strategic planning initiatives to ensure cohesion in messaging across the division and innovate digital and print content that engages audiences and attracts interest to the university. Creates and designs communication campaigns and workflows for various populations that build relationships with the goal of increasing engagement and enrollment to the university as well as student success and fundraising efforts.

Oversees the design, development, and implementation of section goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Serves as the subject matter expert to external agencies with regards to implementing new methodologies and avenues of marketing and communications with the division. Assess the effectiveness of marketing and communication activities conducted throughout the division and provides recommendations and plans for improvement.

Provides oversight when driving multi-channel communications strategies. Oversees the creation, production and editing of press releases, publications, videos, collateral, newsletters, social media content, and other printed materials, including annual reports. Develops, and implements strategic communications, public relations, and branding campaigns that increase public awareness and support for Division of Student Academic Success programs, services, and activities that enhance the University's prominence among key audiences.

Provides leadership and direction in policy and procedure development and implementation for all marketing and communication efforts within the Division of Student Academic Success. Communicates and collaborates with internal and external partners as it impacts communication campaigns and strategies. Serves as liaison between the University and the division to ensure all materials/work conform to FSU's strategic plan.

Qualifications

Master's degree and four years of experience related to media, communications, and/or marketing services; or a Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience. (Note: Higher education may substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty & staff, and interdepartmental personnel. Attention to detail and the highest standard of integrity are imperative. Excellent computer, creative problem-solving, and written and communication skills are essential. The unique ability to interact with individuals calmly, confidently, and with complete objectivity. Computer skills to include experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint or comparable software. Experience in developing and implementing policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Experience with editing and proofreading a variety of documents. Experience with maintaining and improving personal and team effectiveness, and fostering change and creativity. Knowledge of current media technology and trends.
