$24.50 - $27.00 per hour . Responsibilities

Consults with customers to determine objectives and requirements for events, such as meetings, conferences, and conventions. Monitors event activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, satisfaction of participants, and resolution of problems. Confers with staff at a chosen event site to coordinate details. Cross-serves and/or assists team members on an as-needed basis. Reviews event bills for accuracy and approves payment. Plans and develops programs, agendas, budgets, and services according to customer requirements. Coordinates services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security. Arranges the availability of audio-visual equipment, transportation, displays, and other event needs. Inspects event facilities to ensure conformity to customer requirements. Maintains records of event aspects, including financial details. Conducts post-event evaluations to determine how future events could be improved. Negotiates contracts with service providers and suppliers such as hotels, convention centers, and speakers. Meets with sponsors and organizing committees to plan scope and format of events, establish and monitor budgets, or review administrative procedures and event progress. Supervises catered parties as needed. Supervises the wait staff. Staffs banquets, including scheduling and assigning staff to work stations. Adheres to restaurant policies and procedures, with attention to health and safety procedures. Reports problems or discrepancies to management immediately. Directs administrative details, such as financial operations, dissemination of promotional materials, and responses to inquiries. Evaluates and selects providers of services according to customer requirements. Reads trade publications, attends seminars, and consults with other meeting professionals to stay abreast of meeting management standards and trends. Hires, trains, and supervises volunteers and support staff required for events. Supports the sales team with writing and maintaining business reviews and sales presentations, including preparing PowerPoint presentations. Assists clients with questions pertaining to sales and marketing. Prepares, reviews, and submits staff expense reports as needed. Handles phone call management for senior sales leaders. Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises a minimum of five employees in the Events Department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills:

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, accounting, inventory, internet, order processing, and contact management systems. Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and four to six years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Demands:
