Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Our client, a fun-loving and fast growing childrenswear brand, is seeking a Senior Merchandiser, Buyer, Planner to join their team in NYC. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic merchandise plans to optimize inventory levels, maximize sales, and ensure profitability, leading the buying + planning function.

Responsibilities

Develop seasonal merchandise plans in alignment with company goals and objectives.

Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to forecast demand and identify opportunities for growth.

Collaborate with product development and design teams to create compelling assortments that meet customer needs and preferences.

Monitor and evaluate sales performance, inventory turnover, and margin targets, adjusting plans as needed to optimize results.

Conduct regular reviews of assortment plans, making recommendations for assortment optimization, SKU rationalization, and pricing strategies.

Drive promotional planning and markdown strategies to maximize sell-through and minimize excess inventory.

Lead cross-functional meetings and presentations to communicate merchandise strategies, highlight risks, and propose solutions.

Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.

Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Planning, Buying or related field preferred

Minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandise planning, preferably in the wholesale apparel industry and a focus on children's wear.

Advanced Excel skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence decision-making.

Proven track record of driving results, managing complex projects, and adapting to changing business priorities.

Passion for the baby apparel industry

Salary: $100,000-$150,000 Commensurate with Experience
