Overview
The Director of Global Brand Protection & Brand Engagement is a key leadership position that sits within Walmart’s Global Intellectual Property & Brand Protection team, which is responsible for protecting and enforcing the intellectual property rights of sellers, suppliers, and other rights owners. This team creates a more trusted marketplace for customers and is part of the larger Global eCommerce & Marketplace Compliance team. The right person will lead a team responsible for building and scaling Walmart’s Global Brand Portal, brand engagement, and the development of global brand protection tools and policies. The person in this role will report to the Senior Director, Global Intellectual Property & Brand Protection.
Responsibilities
Build and scale a unified, global brand portal and brand engagement program
Lead external engagement with brands, rights owners, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and resolve intellectual property issues
Lead in the development and implementation of platform brand protection and engagement tools
Develop risk-based policies and procedures, monitoring of controls, and reporting of key metrics
Manage and develop a high-performing, cross-functional team across domestic and international markets
What you’ll bring…
Minimum 7 years’ experience in intellectual property or brand protection
Proven experience building and scaling a compliance program
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
Strategic mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
Experience working in eCommerce, retail, or technology-driven environments
Experience managing cross-functional teams and working with international stakeholders
Experience with developing product-based solutions to mitigate risk
Preferred Qualifications
Experience integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLMs) into compliance tools and program
Familiarity with global regulatory environments and best practices in brand protection
Location:
Bentonville, AR (preferred) or San Bruno, CA. In-office presence required 5 days per week.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Stock.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 5 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 3 years’ supervisory experience. 4 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
