Overview
The Department of Cardiology at Northwell Health is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Chief of Cardiology to lead cardiology services at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, including inpatient consultation service, critical care cardiology, and hospital-based cardiovascular imaging.
The ideal candidate is Board-Certified in cardiovascular diseases, with proficiency in various non-invasive modalities, and a passion for patient care, program building, and leadership.
As the only full-service acute care hospital serving residents of The Rockaways, the Five Towns, southern Queens, and southwestern Nassau County, we are seeking a strong leader interested in patient/provider experience, growth, care quality, and programmatic development. St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is a Level 2 trauma center with a 257-bed capacity, affiliated with Episcopal Health Services. As a teaching affiliate of SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, the hospital maintains full accreditation from The Joint Commission. In addition, St. John’s Episcopal Hospital holds designation as a New York State Stroke Center and has received the Gold-Plus “Get with the Guidelines–Stroke” Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association. It is also a certified emergency heart care station. St. John’s has an affiliation with Northwell Health and their large system of care for advanced cardiovascular care delivery.
Far Rockaway, NY
is a vibrant and diverse coastal community located on the Rockaway Peninsula in the borough of Queens, New York City. This area offers a blend of urban and beach living, with miles of sandy beaches and the Rockaway Boardwalk. Far Rockaway features a rich cultural history, diverse dining options, and a thriving local arts scene. Department of Cardiology has seen tremendous growth across Long Island, New York City, and Westchester; with a focus on providing comprehensive, integrated health care and wellness services. Northwell Health comprises 21 hospitals, including four tertiary hospitals and one quaternary hospital, the Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital at North Shore University Hospital. There are also ~850 sites across Northwell delivering ambulatory care. Northwell Health employs 84,000 individuals – including 18,900 nurses and 4,900 employed doctors (including 320 cardiologists, 35 cardio-thoracic surgeons) – all working to change health care for the better. To do this, it takes coordination, standardization, oversight, and a drive to be the best.
