Role context

The Business Relationship Management team serves as the bridge between the technology organization and TriNet business leaders. Business Relationship Managers facilitate partnerships that support the company’s strategic objectives. This role builds strong relationships with business and technology colleagues to improve the intersection between technology and business outcomes. BRMs work with business partners to understand critical business functions, identify improvement opportunities, and collaborate with appropriate teams to implement solutions—with a focus on improving client experience, increasing colleague engagement, and decreasing cost-to-serve expenses.

Role: Principal Business Relationship Manager

The Principal Business Relationship Manager analyzes business processes, identifies potential workflow improvements, and collaborates with technology partners to design and implement solutions. This role views processes from an enterprise perspective, ensuring technology solutions align with organizational goals. It requires broad knowledge of business processes across the organization and acting as a trusted advisor to executive leaders. The Principal BRM proactively presents improvement ideas to executives, focusing on large-scale, enterprise-level opportunities. The position stays current with external best practices to ensure recommendations align with industry innovations. It identifies change opportunities that improve colleague engagement, client satisfaction, and cost-to-serve and can address conflicts, tailoring technology solutions to meet strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Engage with business colleagues and executive leadership to understand current priorities, processes, and pain points.

Align business knowledge with technology solution expertise to identify workflow improvements.

Build collaborative relationships with Technology and business colleagues, focusing on executive leadership relationships.

Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders to influence change and drive process improvements.

Assess the potential business impact of proposed changes to prioritize work and identify opportunities for cross-departmental implementation and financial savings.

Conduct financial and timeline analyses of improvement opportunities, focusing on ROI and prioritization decisions.

Proactively present improvement ideas to executive leaders for consideration, with emphasis on large-scale opportunities.

Lead in de-escalation of issues and conflicts within the BRM team and with executive leaders.

Be knowledgeable about the BRM portfolio and assist in resolving budget, resource, and prioritization conflicts.

Stay informed of external best practices to align recommendations with industry innovations.

Serve as a central communication liaison between the Global Technology Organization and business units, with emphasis on executive communications.

Execute BRM standardized processes for requirements gathering, business process documentation, impact evaluation, technology feasibility, training, and project execution.

Analyze BRM processes for continuous improvement opportunities.

Mentor and coach BRM colleagues.

Skills and Experience

Knowledge of Finance business processes is a plus.

Master's Degree or equivalent experience preferred

10+ years of professional experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and coordinate assignments for others

Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels, including executive leadership

Ability to influence decision makers and execute change management with internal colleagues and external partners

Ability to translate technology benefits to non-technology colleagues, especially executive leadership

Ability to document requirements, create impact presentations, and facilitate meetings with executive stakeholders

Ability to manage budgeting, resources, and prioritization conflicts

Knowledge of PEO industry applications and data, and BRM best practices

Commitment to core values and high ethical standards in a diverse workplace

Strong logical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Able to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment while managing competing priorities

Ability to listen to business concerns, demonstrate empathy, and resolve complex issues diplomatically

Ability to mentor and coach colleagues

Education Master's Degree or equivalent experience preferred

Work Experience Typically 10+ years

Location and Compensation The preferred location for this role is Atlanta, GA. Salary range for this location is $106,300.00 to $233,800.00. All qualified external applicants will be considered for an in-office role in Atlanta. Internal candidates are encouraged to apply and may relocate to Atlanta or be considered for remote work at the company’s discretion. Final offer will be based on skills, education, location, and experience. The compensation may include bonuses per TriNet’s corporate bonus plan.
