We are seeking an
Alaska Workstream Product Owner
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary liaison between FAA stakeholders, engineering teams, and program leadership, ensuring that requirements unique to Alaska\'s operational environment are translated into deliverables. This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in federal contracting while supporting high-visibility aviation programs. In this position, you will: Manage the product vision, roadmap, and backlog to deploy solutions that enhance safety, resiliency, and communications in Alaska\'s challenging aviation region. Serve as the Product Owner for the Alaska modernization workstream within FAA programs. Define, maintain, and prioritize the product vision, roadmap, and backlog aligned to Alaska\'s operational needs. Translate stakeholder requirements into user stories, features, and epics for engineering teams. Collaborate with FAA leaders, local operators, and technical experts to define priorities and ensure alignment with mission objectives. Support the deployment of infrastructure, communications, surveillance, and navigation solutions specific to Alaska. Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release prioritization with Agile teams. Ensure solutions comply with FAA safety standards, cybersecurity frameworks, and resiliency requirements. Provide progress reports, KPIs, and value delivery metrics to FAA leadership. Identify and manage dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies for Alaska programs. Demonstrate ability to manage complex product backlogs and feature prioritization. Exhibit excellent communication and facilitation skills with experience briefing executives. Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship Required. Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance. Bachelor\'s degree and 12 years of experience; or Master\'s degree and 10 years; or Associate\'s degree and 14 years experience; or HS diploma/equivalent and 16 years experience. Product ownership, systems engineering, or aviation program management experience. Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, or equivalent). Strong background in aviation systems, infrastructure, or communications technologies. Familiarity with Alaska\'s unique aviation challenges (remote operations, extreme weather, limited infrastructure). Experience in federal IT or aviation compliance standards (NIST RMF, FISMA, SMS). Preferred Qualifications
Direct FAA or NAS configuration management experience. Experience with FAA acquisition processes, AMS standards, and safety frameworks. Degree in Systems Engineering, Aviation Management, or Business Administration. Certifications such as CSPO, SAFe POPM, or PMP. Experience supporting FAA NextGen or Alaska modernization initiatives. Background in communications, surveillance, or navigation systems relevant to Alaska operations. Familiarity with international aviation standards (ICAO, ITU-T). Experience working with regional operators, airports, or state aviation authorities. Compensation and benefits
Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. Salary is determined by factors including scope, experience, education, skills, geographic location, and contract considerations. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply depending on the position.
