Senior Content Manager, People Managing People (USA) – Black & White Zebra This full-time, remote role offers a base salary range of $110,000.00/yr – $140,000.00/yr. Salary details are provided for USA-based candidates; actual compensation is determined through interviews and a review of qualifications. Black & White Zebra publishes flagship resources for leadership and AI-enabled workflows. The Senior Content Manager will lead the People Managing People program, manage a team of editors, and own a cross-channel strategy across editorial, ebooks, newsletters, podcasts, events, video, and social. The role involves repurposing content, aligning with editorial roadmap, and ensuring content is useful, credible, and performance-driven. You will ground the content roadmap in audience insight, including SEO, competitive research, and direct user feedback, and identify emerging leadership needs. You will sharpen the editorial voice, clarify complex topics, and position People Managing People as a go-to source for future-ready leadership. You will explore and scale new content experiences and coach editors to do the same. You will collaborate with Content Ops, SEO, Media, and Events teams to align efforts and raise quality and efficiency. What You\'ll Be Doing (Responsibilities) Lead cross-channel content strategy and roadmap: own content roadmap, decide what to create, update, and optimize across channels based on performance data, business goals, and audience needs. Extend stories across editorial, podcasts, newsletters, video, social, and events; repurpose content for maximum impact. Evolve editorial methodology to ensure alignment with the mission to help readers future-proof their organizations. Ground decisions in SEO, user feedback, competitive research, data sources, and emerging audience needs, especially around AI and the future of project delivery Elevate content quality and innovation: oversee site-wide content quality and clarity; contribute first-person content on high-priority topics; participate in interviews, podcasts, and digital PR opportunities; test, launch, and scale new formats that engage readers in fresh ways; surface emerging reader needs by talking to users and testing tools with a focus on AI topics Embed and scale AI-powered content systems: work with content operations to integrate AI across workflows; coach editors to participate in earned media and thought leadership in partnership with the Digital PR Lead Grow and empower a high-performing content team: manage editors and contributors; provide editorial development and career support; foster curiosity, collaboration, and experimentation

How Your Success Will Be Measured Content output and quality: volume of high-quality articles published monthly; adherence to editorial standards and voice; improvements in engagement and time-to-publish Performance impact: growth in keyword rankings, organic traffic, newsletter sign-ups, conversions for key topics and funnel stages AI-powered improvements: enhancements to templates and workflows that increase quality and scale; faster time-to-publish and improved efficiency Team development: editorial growth, faster content cycles, and higher quality output Thought leadership readiness: participation in media and PR opportunities; engagement of SMEs and editors in thought leadership Proprietary enhancements: pieces enriched with diagrams, templates, tools, visuals, or interactive elements

Your Skillset Includes 5–7+ years in organic content strategy, editorial leadership, or content marketing with a track record of scaling programs Strong foundation in business management and people leadership; experience with HR tools and translating that experience into high-value content Proven experience managing content teams or freelancers in fast-paced environments Deep knowledge of SEO, user intent, and content UX; ability to create content that ranks and converts Advanced experience with AI-assisted content production, including prompt design and workflow tuning Strong research, interviewing, and storytelling skills Excellent cross-functional communication and project management with SEO, media, operations, and leadership stakeholders Ability to leverage data to drive decisions; comfortable with GA4, Ahrefs, WordPress, and Airtable Curiosity about the future of organizational leadership and helping others adapt

Nice To Haves Experience contributing expert commentary or appearing in thought leadership content Familiarity with PR/media collaboration Background in content UX, accessibility, or conversion-oriented design

Salary Statement This full-time position is available as a remote role with an annual base salary range of $110,000 to $140,000 USD. The range is for USA-based candidates and varies by seniority, experience, and market data. Eligible for discretionary bonus and benefits.
