We are seeking an experienced
Safety Director
to lead our safety department, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a proactive safety culture throughout the company. Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of the company’s safety and compliance for a 100+ truck fleet. Monitor and maintain compliance with FMCSA, DOT, IFTA, IRP, and state regulations. Oversee driver qualification files, onboarding, road tests, and training programs. Track and manage CSA scores, roadside inspections, ELD/Samsara reports, and accident data. Conduct root-cause investigations for accidents, claims, and violations; implement corrective actions. Develop, update, and enforce safety policies, SOPs, and driver handbooks. Manage quarterly/annual safety audits, IFTA/2290 filings, and insurance compliance. Provide weekly safety performance reports and recommendations directly to ownership. Lead driver coaching sessions to improve safety scores. Work closely with Operations, HR, Fleet Maintenance, and Claims to build accountability across all departments. Qualifications
5+ years of safety/compliance leadership in trucking or logistics (100+ truck fleet preferred). Strong knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations, CSA scoring, and OTR trucking operations. Experience with Samsara or similar telematics/ELD platforms. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to conduct training, build relationships with drivers, and promote a strong safety culture. Problem-solver who can balance compliance requirements with operational realities. Benefits
