Position Overview

UCSF Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Oncology Registered Nurse to join its outpatient oncology clinic at Mission Bay. This role is designed for a nurse with extensive oncology knowledge, strong ambulatory / outpatient experience, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care in a world-renowned academic medical center. The ideal candidate is confident in triage, palliative care, and end-of-life discussions and is flexible to float across UCSF facilities when needed. Location

Days, 5x8-Hour Shifts (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM) Pay Rate

$58.00 – $63.00 per hour (Local Candidates Only) Assignment Type

Travel or Contract RN Responsibilities

Provide outpatient oncology nursing care in a clinic setting, including triage and assessment of patients. Administer chemotherapy and other therapies as appropriate (per scope and institutional policies). Monitor and manage treatment-related adverse events, including infusion reactions and cytotoxic safety. Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and participate in tumor boards or educational activities as needed. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies. Support end-of-life discussions and advanced care planning when appropriate. Engage in active bedside and telephone triage with thorough documentation. Maintain infection control, safety practices, and regulatory compliance in the ambulatory setting. Required Qualifications

Active California RN License (Required) AHA BLS Certification (Required) Minimum 5 years of Oncology Nursing experience Ambulatory / Outpatient Clinic experience Phone triage and palliative care experience Familiarity with End of Life Option Act Willingness to float to other UCSF facilities Epic EMR experience Previous travel nursing experience (Required) Preferred Qualifications

ONS / ONCC Chemotherapy Certification OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) Previous Charge RN experience Experience in Academic / Teaching Hospitals Experience in Community Hospitals LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) Level I / II Trauma Centers Key Skills & Clinical Expertise

Oncology & Chemotherapy administration: IV push, oral, continuous infusion Safe handling and disposal of cytotoxic agents Biotherapy & Immunotherapy administration Bone marrow transplant patient care Management of oncologic emergencies (e.g., TLS, sepsis, spinal cord compression) Infusion Therapy Port and PICC line access Central line maintenance Infusion pump operation IV hydration, multivitamins, and blood product administration Triage & Symptom Management Telephone triage with clear and thorough documentation Advanced care planning and hospice discussions Symptom support: nausea, neuropathy, mucositis, altered mental status Psychosocial & End-of-Life Care Emotional support for patients and families Withholding or withdrawing treatment decisions End-of-life and palliative care coordination Clinical Experience with Cancer Types (Preferred)
